Hi, I am Bill Chen
A Sydney-based photographer working across fashion, commercial, and still life.
Before photography, I worked in visual effects post-production as a 3D artist on films including The Great Gatsby, Happy Feet 2, Gods of Egypt, and Ghostbusters. That background continues to shape how I work today — thinking in layers, light, and the final image beyond the moment of capture.
My approach is relaxed, collaborative, and detail-driven. I work closely with stylists, art directors, and brands to create imagery that feels considered yet effortless — polished without feeling overproduced. I’m drawn to fashion imagery that is natural, intimate, and subtly romantic, shaped by quiet moments, gentle movement, and thoughtfully chosen locations.
I believe strong ideas don’t need to be complicated. I enjoy the early conversations — sharing references, refining concepts, and allowing ideas to evolve organically — with the aim of creating work that feels honest, refined, and visually strong.
